Didn't Know v2.0

I always knew you were there
But the chance of meeting you was rare
And then you fell from heaven
but I didn't know a thing

But then you showed yourself to me
and I hope someday you'll see
that when I see your face, I fly
even though you don't right now

But I'll be waiting for you
Don't deny you want me too
and I'll be waiting for you
After all, I've got the time

Way back when, yesterday
Guess you didn't know what to say
I understand completely
'cause you didn't know a thing

I must confess I'm not so sure
but my way of thinking is the cure
I may be wasting all my time
But why so serious?

So I'll be waiting for you
Don't deny you want me too
and I'll be waiting for you
After all, I've got the time

So I'll be waiting for you
Just in case it's not a basket case
and I'll be waiting for you
'Cause I know I have the time

The original was kind of dumb- Dan liked it though so he's covering it. At any rate, I made a ska version of it at one point because I'd never done a proper ska song before. It was pretty cool but now the lyrics seemed even worse because there was this rocking song and these pathetic lyrics.
I decided to switch things up and rewrite from the perspective of this guy who's really full of himself, but at the end he confesses he might not be right about everything- but hey, why bother with pessimism?
