Didn't Know

I've always known you were there
Always thought meeting you was rare
But then you fell from heaven
and I didn't know a thing

But then you showed yourself to me
and I hoped someday you'd see
that when I see your face, I fly
but you didn't know a thing

But I'll be waiting for you
forever until you want me too
and I'll be waiting for you
just in case there's still some hope

Yesterday I came to you
Told you what I felt, it's still true
but then you turned away
and the world stopped there

Things weren't really clear
so now I have this fear
that I'm wasting my time
Please prove me wrong

'Cause I'll be waiting for you
forever until you want me too
and I'll be waiting for you
just in case there's still some hope

This is the happiest song I've ever written, and I've got the chords to prove it.
No, seriously, it was already sickeningly sweet before I wrote music to go with it.
To be honest, I was still in my first crush (the star of the previous three songs) at the time, but I was hanging around this other girl to feel less down and more relaxed. Add a few (a few!?) embellishments here and there and you get this, I guess.
